Must Dos...

 If you only have time to do one thing in Tumut, make sure that you take a walk along the Tumut River.

While in Adelong take a walk around the historical Adelong Falls Gold Mill Ruins.

A trip to Batlow to discover the spectacular Sugar Pines walk should be a must on every visitor's itinerary.

Tracks and Trails in the Tumut Region

Short to medium length walking tracks are available close to each town.  If you are looking for half-day or day walk options please see the Adventuring section on this webpage.

While in Tumut take an easy walk along the River Walk and enjoy the majestic Elms, Oaks and Maple Trees.

How about a stroll through the Tumut Wetlands? A bird watchers delight with over 70 different bird species.

At the Sarah Jeffrey Reserve in Tumut you will find the starting point of 7kms of native bushalnd trails to explore, offering superb views over the Tumut River Valley.

Close to Talbingo, you can take a walk along the Jounama Creek and enjoy the native bushland. Finish your walk with a picnic by the creek.

Batlow has a network of bush trails at the Weemala Lookout.  Look out over the town and orchards and see some relics of the goldmining era.

In Adelong the creek walk links to the Adelong Falls Gold Mill Ruins a great spot to explore for the whole family.
